Jackery rates its flagship LiFePO4 units to 70% capacity while EcoFlow, Anker and Bluetti use 80%, so identical-looking numbers are not comparable. Japanese-market units are also derated to 100V. What actually differs between the 2026 lineups, and what it costs in each market.

The cycle-life number on the box is not comparable between brands

This is the finding that should change how you shop, and almost no comparison article says it: the four major brands do not measure battery life to the same endpoint.

Jackery documents its flagship LiFePO4 power stations — the Explorer 1000 and 2000 class, which is what this page compares — at 4,000 cycles to 70% remaining capacity. EcoFlow, Anker and Bluetti all quote theirs to 80%. A cell always takes more cycles to fall to 70% than to fall to 80%, so Jackery’s 4,000 and EcoFlow’s 4,000 are not the same claim. Jackery’s is the softer one.

One qualification, because the endpoint is not even uniform inside Jackery’s own catalogue: the smaller Solar Generator units are rated to 80%, not 70% — the 100 Plus at about 2,000 cycles and the 240 v2 at 3,000 cycles, both to 80%. The 70% convention is what Jackery applies to the flagship LiFePO4 line, so read the endpoint off the exact model rather than assuming it brand-wide.

Run the four side by side and the ranking inverts from what the headline numbers imply:

Bluetti’s 6,000-to-80% is the strongest documented claim in this group by a clear margin, and Bluetti is the brand most people leave off the shortlist. Anker’s 3,000 looks like the weakest number here but is measured strictly; it is not three-quarters of Jackery’s figure in any meaningful sense.

All four are LiFePO4 across the current flagship lines. If you are looking at an older SKU still sitting in a catalogue, check the chemistry per model rather than assuming — Jackery’s own Japanese collection page still lists the Explorer 1000 Plus as lithium-ion while the newer units are labelled LiFePO4.

Three of the four brands ship a weaker inverter to Japan

Japan runs a 100V grid, against 120V in the US. That is not just a label change: on three of these four brands, the Japanese unit carries a lower rated AC output than the US unit with the same name.

Jackery is the exception. Its Japanese unit carries the same 2,042Wh, the same 2,200W rated output and the same 4,400W surge as the US Explorer 2000 v2. Jackery Japan operates as a full local subsidiary and the Japanese market is a priority for it, which is the likeliest explanation.

This matters more in Japan than it sounds, because a Japanese 1,500W ceiling has to cover appliances that routinely draw 1,200-1,400W — an electric kettle, a microwave, a rice cooker, a hair dryer. Two of those at once is not possible on a derated C1000 or DELTA 3 Plus. On the 2,200W units it is.

The same product has different names in each market

Two naming traps worth knowing before you cross-reference a review:

  • Jackery does not use the “v2” suffix in Japan. The US Explorer 2000 v2 is sold as the “ポータブル電源 2000 New” (model JE-2000D). US-market names like HomePower do not appear in the Japanese catalogue at all, and Japan has a SlimPower H1 that the US lineup does not list.
  • Bluetti renamed the Elite 200 V2 to AORA 200 in Japan in November 2025 to unify its local lineup. Same 2,073.6Wh hardware, different box. Japanese buyers should also note that the standalone AORA 200 no longer bundles the MC4 solar cable the Elite 200 V2 shipped with.

EcoFlow and Anker keep their model names consistent across both markets.

Japan buys these for disasters, not camping — which changes the spec priority

The Japanese market is driven by earthquake, typhoon and grid-outage preparedness rather than by camping, and the market is growing on that basis. That reorders which specs actually matter:

Goes up in importance: UPS switchover time (EcoFlow specifies under 10ms on the DELTA 3 Plus, Anker 20ms on the C1000 — relevant if you want a desktop or a medical device to ride through a cut); rated AC output, because disaster loads are heating loads; noise, because you may be running it in an apartment or a shelter; and calendar life, because a preparedness unit sits charged and unused for years.

Goes down in importance: solar recharge speed and panel bundles, which dominate US marketing but assume days of daylight and open space; ruggedness and IP ratings; and total portability, since the unit lives in a cupboard rather than a car boot.

If you are buying for preparedness, a 2,000Wh-class unit with a 2,200W inverter is the sensible floor. A 1,000Wh unit at 1,500W will charge phones and run lights, but it will not run a kettle and a heater at the same time, and that is the scenario people actually buy for.

Two things Japanese listings will mislead you about

The 50/60Hz split is a non-issue. Eastern Japan runs at 50Hz and western Japan at 60Hz, and this is a genuine oddity of the Japanese grid — but all four brands specify 100V at 50/60Hz on their Japanese units. Ignore it when shortlisting.

A “PSE” mark probably refers to the charger. Japan’s lithium-ion battery requirement under the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act is built around volumetric energy density and is aimed at power banks; AC-output power stations are generally treated as outside it. The bundled AC adapter, however, is a regulated electrical appliance and must carry PSE. So the mark on a listing is often certifying the brick, not the battery.

None of these can fly

Since 24 April 2026, Japan’s rules cap cabin lithium batteries at 160Wh per unit, two units per passenger, with no in-flight use and no overhead-bin storage, applying to all flights to, from and within Japan. Every unit in this article is 1,000Wh or more. There is no size of portable power station that flies — the category is a ground product, full stop. We covered the passenger-side detail separately.

Prices differ by more than the exchange rate

At roughly ¥159 to the dollar in August 2026:

The pattern is consistent: Japanese pricing sits near list, while US pricing is discounted hard and often. The Anker gap is the widest — a US buyer can pay under half what the Japanese official price asks for the same 1,056Wh unit, and gets 1,800W instead of 1,500W for it. Japanese buyers should wait for a sale rather than treat the official price as the price.

Warranty is closer than it looks but not identical. Anker quotes five years in the US; Anker Japan’s cover is 18 months as standard, extended to a maximum of five years only if you register as a member. Jackery is three years plus two on registration in both markets. EcoFlow and Bluetti quote five years on the models above.

Buy on the endpoint-adjusted cycle claim, not the raw number: Bluetti’s 6,000-to-80% is the strongest documented figure here, and Jackery’s 4,000 on the flagship Explorers is measured to a softer 70% (its smaller Solar Generator units are rated to 80%).
